Leading Conference Series Brings Expanded Programming to Soldier Field for Third Annual Event
Nationally ranked startup accelerator, gener8tor, will host the third annual OnRamp Insurance Conference with presenting sponsor American Family Insurance on April 12, 2018. The conference will welcome over 1,000 attendees from the corporate, venture capital and startup communities. As the foremost conference for insurance innovation, the curated one-day event will provide attendees with the option of three tracks which include one-on-one pitch sessions with over 50 committed corporations, exclusive panel discussions, product demonstrations and keynote speakers, among others.
Returning to Chicago’s Soldier Field for the third year, the highly anticipated event will highlight the innovations disrupting the insurance industry, the leaders making such ideas possible and how new technologies and business models will reinvent the industry.
“I’m happy to give a keynote speech on the IoT Insurance paradigm at this awesome event sponsored by American Family, one of the most active members of my think tank and a pioneer of smart home insurance adoption” said Matteo Carbone, Founder of the IoT Insurance Observatory. “IoT sensors if used in the right way – and there are many examples around the world – are a tremendous opportunity for the insurance sector. The best practices on IoT insurance are the perfect examples for applying the 4Ps framework which I have developed a few years ago to evaluate any InsurTech initiative. Some players have managed to obtain great results on technical Profitability, Productivity, Proximity with the clients, and Persistency of the book of business. The use of that technology in the insurance sector is still immature: a lot of talks but unfortunately 90% of the discussions are scraping the surface or focusing on some myths crystallized there for years. You can find many analysts discussing IoT only from a pricing perspective while missing all the other applications along the insurance value chain. The IoT Insurance Observatory helps its members – more than 40 Insurance and Reinsurance Group in North America and Europe – in shaping a strategy for the adoption of IoT, provides a unique constant update on the best practices and pitfalls around the world and connects people and ideas to help them understand the opportunity presented by IoT for the insurance value chain”.
“More than 330 startups applied to this year’s OnRamp Insurance Conference, representing $1.4 billion of venture capital financing,” said Troy Vosseller, Co-Founder of gener8tor. "As one of the premier gatherings of insurance corporate venture capital and innovation executives, we’re facilitating new ways for startups to gain additional funding, new customers and corporate partners to grow their business no matter where they are.”
The one-day event includes a Conference Track featuring keynote speakers, panel discussions, fireside chats and product demos. Agenda topics for Conference Track attendees will include: The Future of Insurtech, Autonomous Vehicles, The Behavioral Economics of Insurance, Perspectives on Corporate Venture, The Emerging Impact of Cyber Security, Telematics, Innovating Commercial Insurance, Blockchain, and Aerial Intelligence, among others.
