Thailand: Life insurance market's 2017 growth underpinned by several positive moves

The Thai Life Assurance Association has projected that premium income in the life sector this year will grow by 6% to THB600 billion (US$17 billion), which would be marginally faster than last year's 5.7%. The life sector saw premium income of THB568.26 billion in 2016. One reason for the forecast growth is that the current low interest-rate environment is pushing insurance companies to move more into investment-linked products and those that target specific customer segments, reported The Nation.
