Global investment in InsurTech grew by 237% to $2.6bn (£1.78bn) in 2015 according to research from professional services company Accenture. The firm said that the number of deals in the insurance sector has more than quadrupled since 2011. According to Accenture delivering cost savings and efficiencies through FinTech has been a "particular focus for insurers as insurance automation accounted for 67% of all FinTech insurance deals"
