Insurance technology investments continue to boom, but the average deal size is shrinking, according venture capital database CB Insights. The firm reported 120 insurtech transactions this year to 26 September, up from 118 in 2015, but senior research analyst Matthew Wong noted total funding of $1.39bn was slightly lower compared to the same period last year (see chart 1).
