Milan becomes the center of Fintech and Insurtech discussions in the month of May

FinTechStage Milan 2017 will be hosted on May 4th and 5th in a city that is putting on stage a great comeback to its previous prestige. Milan received quite some attention last month for another successful edition of the Salone del Mobile and in a couple of weeks it will become the center of Fintech and InsurTech discussions. The city has a GDP per capita of €45.000, almost double the national average and it hosts around 3000 multinational companies, representing the forth European-based economy according to growth rate.[1]

Milan is starting to be visible on the startup stage with around 800 such companies active in 2016 (compared to 2013 when it had only 217) and FinTechStage chose it for the third time to show off some exhaustive knowledge of financial services, an unrivalled network of experts and a great connection to the startup world. In one sentence, whether it’s a financial institution, an organization, an eco-system or a country: FinTechStage promisesses to help build FinTech tribes in order to create partnerships which enable innovation.

This year FinTechStage is bringing for the first time in Italy a full day dedicated to the Insurtech discussion: on Friday May 5th, more than 25 international speakers, five of them listed in the global InsurTech Influencers top50 created by Insurtechnews, will be discussing the hottest InsurTech topics from AI and Blockchain to connected insurance, from the unbundling of the insurance value chain to the tentative to disrupt old distribution channels.

This unique event was created by Fintechstage with the collaboration of Matteo Carbone, worldwide insurtech thought leader, and thanks to the Munich Re sponsorship. This global Reinsurance giant will be represented at the event by Andreas Moser, CEO Munich Re Italy,  and Thomas Braune, Munich Re Life Reinsurance.

Allianz, Axa, Chubb Group, Generali, Swiss Re, UnipolSai, and XL Catlin are the other insurance companies present at the event. Startups will be the focus point of the show having on the stage Advise Only, AssetVault, ChainThat, CompareEuropeGroup, Digital Fineprint, Gen.Life, Kroodle, Neosurance, and RiskApp. The insurtech discussion will also involve international speakers from Deloitte, Eos Venture Partners, IBM, Oracle, Orange Growth Capital, and Mediobanca. The event promisses to be loud and disruptive with a great line-up of InsurTech experts present in Milan in few weeks.
