Lemonade, one of the earliest insurtech unicorns, has recorded losses for 2Q2020 in what was its first earnings disclosure as a publicly listed company.

However, this was an expected result owing to the company's strategy since its launch in 2016, which was to focus primarily on raising money first and then build scale.
